Unlike some of our lessons, this month's lesson is easy, and very simple to accomplish.

We all know the value of an act of kindness, and we all know how much more valuable that act of kindness is if it is one that requires thought and effort and selfless participation. And by participation I mean not just an act of prayer, or a signature on a check, or a phonecall even, although these acts, in of themselves are more than valuable and very necessary.

I want to talk more about those acts of kindness which require us to put ourselves out a little, which force us to get out of our own routine, and which force us to take an action. Some of you may be saying that you already do these things, some of you may be saying, "didn't we do this exercise already?" Well possibly you do, and perhaps we did.but this month's exercise is just a little different. This is an exercise which is just about you.

Yes. We all know the value of an act of kindness, and we all know how much more valuable that act is when it is done with thought, with effort, and when we put ourselves out.

We know the value in an act of kindness towards others. But do we know the value of an act of kindness to ourselves? I don't think we do. So here is our exercise for the month.

Each day you must perform an act of kindness. One which requires thought and effort. An act which takes you out of your normal routine, and which requires some actual physical participation. An act of love, and caring, designed to inspire only the best, designed to make that person feel only well loved. That person being you.

You must perform an act of this nature every day for the next month.for yourself. Experience your own act of kindness.

I said at the beginning that this was an easy exercise, and so it should be, for our soul cries out for our love and our attention every day. But I know that many of you will find it difficult at first, and will wonder what on earth you can possibly give to yourself in this way.

Below are a few suggestions, but be innovative, be creative, put thought and effort into the process. Just as you would for someone else. Experience your own true acts of kindness. Experience them for yourself.

Some suggestions
1. Make yourself a cake
2. Go for a long, self-indulgent walk
3. Give yourself a candle light supper
4. Organize a trip you have always wanted to take
5. Go shopping and buy something just for you
6. Send yourself a "to a friend," or "I love you" card
7. Go to the movies in the middle of the afternoon

· What ideas do you have?
· Post them on the web site.
· Get involved.
· Share your ideas with others.

Learn the true value of your acts of kindness to toward yourself. And be empowered, knowing that you, too, are a valuable and well-loved spirit.
